The year is 1815 and a British invasion has descended upon the city of New Orleans. With no established defence and 1,000 unseasoned troops, Major General Andrew Jackson sought a ‘Hail Mary’ from the most questionable of places – a pirate by the name of Jean Lafitte. Under Lafitte’s command, the American army fought off the British and American independence was saved! As a result, Lafitte and his men were praised by Jackson for ‘exhibiting the same courage and fidelity’ as his own troops.
